Post Construction Cleaning, From Gaithersburg Out

The finish clean after the trades pack up. Drywall dust off every surface and ledge, sticker glue off the cabinets, residue off the fixtures, so the space stops looking like a job site and starts looking finished.

The Service

Builders Finish the Work. Somebody Finishes the Space.

Drywall dust does not behave like household dust. Sanding joint compound throws gypsum particles so fine they ride the air for hours, then land on the tops of doors, inside light fittings, along window tracks and on every horizontal millimetre of a room that was swept yesterday. Post construction cleaning is the pass that actually ends that cycle.

Quick Cleaning Services treats this as nothing like a house clean. Adhesive and sticker residue off appliances and cabinet doors, paint flecks off hardware, grout haze off tile, protective film off fixtures, cabinetry wiped inside before anybody fills it, and floors done last because everything above them still has to come down.

Quick Cleaning Services runs post construction cleaning services for builders, remodellers and homeowners across Maryland and Washington, D.C. One flat price, agreed after we hear what the trades actually did, rather than a guess made over the phone.

Why It Matters

The Difference Between Done and Handed Over

Dust Settles Three Times

Fine gypsum keeps dropping for days after the sanding stops. One pass is why spaces look dusty again a week later, and why the sequence of a construction clean matters more than the effort in it.

Flat Price, Scoped Honestly

Tell us what was built and what state the trades left. The number covers the clean we quoted, and if the site is not ready we say so before the crew is dispatched, not after.

Booked Against a Fixed Deadline

Walkthroughs, settlements and tenant move-ins do not move. The clean is booked to land in the gap, and the same thing applies to a commercial handover as to a kitchen remodel.

Trusted Inside an Unfinished Building

Working inside an unfinished building full of someone else’s tools and materials is a trust question before it is a cleaning question. The company has carried Maryland clients since 2016.

Seven Other Jobs the Same Crew Takes On

A build ends, a space gets used, and it needs something different six months later. All eight sit with one company and one phone number.

The Scope

What Post Construction Cleaning Services Cover

Worked from the ceiling down, because anything cleaned early gets dusted again by whatever is cleaned above it.

High and Overhead

  • Light fittings, fans and vent covers
  • Tops of doors, frames and casings
  • Ledges, sills and exposed ductwork
  • Cobwebs and settled dust on upper walls
  • Sprinkler heads and smoke detectors wiped clear

Surfaces and Fixtures

  • Protective film and sticker residue removed
  • Adhesive and paint flecks off hardware and fixtures
  • Cabinetry and drawers cleaned inside and out
  • Appliance exteriors, interiors and seals
  • Grout haze and installation residue on tile

Sills and Floors

  • Light switches and socket faces dusted, then wiped
  • Window sills and the channels under them
  • Debris swept from corners and wall edges
  • Floors vacuumed, then washed, done last
  • Second pass on anything dust settled onto again

Hauling construction debris, demolition waste and anything requiring abatement stays with the contractor. We arrive to clean a space, not to empty a skip, and the quote says that plainly. Window glass is outside the job too: we do not wash windows, inside or out, so film and labels on the panes go to a window specialist.

The Dust

Construction Dust Is Not Ordinary Dust

Cutting, grinding or drilling concrete, masonry, tile and some engineered stone releases respirable crystalline silica. OSHA regulates how that is handled on a construction site under 29 CFR 1926.1153, and the technique rules in it are worth understanding before anybody reaches for a broom.

Not allowed

Dry sweeping

The standard bars dry sweeping and dry brushing where it could add to silica exposure, unless wet methods are genuinely not feasible. A broom on fine dust mostly relaunches it into the air you are standing in.

Not allowed

Compressed air

Blowing surfaces down with compressed air is restricted the same way, permitted only alongside ventilation that captures the cloud it creates, or where no alternative exists. NIOSH advises against it in housekeeping too.

The method

Wet and HEPA

OSHA names wet sweeping and HEPA-filtered vacuuming as the defaults. Dried saw slurry, specifically, should be wetted down and lifted with a wet vacuum rather than swept at any point.

Those rules govern the contractor while silica-generating work is happening. A finish clean comes afterwards, once that work is done and debris is gone. If a space still has active cutting, heavy slurry or anything needing abatement, that is the contractor’s scope under the standard, and we will say so rather than send a crew.

Tell Us What Was Built

Square footage, what the trades did, and whether debris is already out. A photo of the worst room tells us more than a paragraph.

Fix the Figure, Fix the Date

One flat number for the whole clean, plus the day it happens. If the site will not be ready for that date, we would rather move it than arrive and improvise.

FAQ

What Builders and Owners Ask First

Timing, scope, price and where our job stops.

After the trades finish and the contractor has removed construction debris, and before the walkthrough or move-in. Booking it the same week the work ends usually backfires: dust keeps settling for days, so the clean lands too early to hold.

Quick Cleaning Services sets a flat rate per clean, quoted once we know the square footage, what was built and the state the space is in. Builders sometimes call it the final clean, and construction cleaning services is the other common name; the price works the same whichever you use. Nothing is billed by the hour. A kitchen remodel and a whole-floor fit-out are not close in price.

Our crews handle the clean; your contractor handles the haul. Debris, demolition waste and surplus materials go out with them, and then we take the space from stripped to finished. The quote states that split plainly so nobody is waiting on the other.

Usually the better move is to wait for the last sanding, cutting and painting, because anything cleaned before that gets coated again. Where a phased approach genuinely helps the schedule, Quick Cleaning Services scopes it as separate visits in Gaithersburg and across the county, each priced on its own.

Completely. A deep cleaning removes buildup from a lived-in home. Post construction cleaning removes manufacturing residue: film, adhesive, grout haze, paint flecks and gypsum dust, from surfaces nobody has used yet.

No. Work regulated under the OSHA respirable crystalline silica standard, and anything requiring abatement, belongs to the contractor. We arrive once that is complete, and we will tell you if a space is not ready.

Both. New builds, additions, kitchen and bath remodels, basement conversions and commercial fit-outs. The scope changes with the work; a single-room renovation needs a fraction of what a new build does.

Good to Know

Dust, Rules and Finishing a Build

Quick Cleaning Services LLC has handled post construction cleaning from Gaithersburg, Maryland since 2016, across Montgomery, Frederick, Howard and Carroll counties and Washington, D.C. The clean happens after the trades finish and debris is gone, covers residue a house clean never meets, and is quoted as one flat price for the whole job.

Why does drywall dust keep coming back?

Because it never fully landed. Sanding joint compound produces particles light enough to stay airborne for hours and to lift again every time a door opens, which is why Quick Cleaning Services sequences the work instead of simply doing more of it. One pass catches what has settled so far; what is still in the air arrives afterwards, which is why sequence beats effort here.

What makes construction dust a health question?

Cutting, grinding and drilling concrete, masonry, tile or engineered stone releases respirable crystalline silica, fine enough to reach deep into the lungs. OSHA regulates it in construction under 29 CFR 1926.1153, with exposure limits, controls and written plans attached.

Why does nobody sweep a construction space dry?

Because the regulation says not to where silica is involved. Dry sweeping and dry brushing are barred unless wet sweeping or HEPA-filtered vacuuming are genuinely not feasible, and NIOSH gives the same advice. A broom relaunches what it is supposed to remove, which is why our teams never start a construction space dry.

Is compressed air ever acceptable for cleanup?

Only narrowly. OSHA permits it for cleaning surfaces where ventilation captures the dust cloud it creates, or where no alternative is feasible, and the employer has to show why. For a finish clean in a handed-over space, the question does not usually arise, and our crews do not carry compressed air for cleaning in the first place.

What is post renovation cleaning versus new construction cleaning?

The same discipline at different scale. Post renovation cleaning deals with one or two rooms and the dust that escaped into the rest of a home people still live in. New construction cleaning covers an empty building where every surface is equally untouched and equally coated, which is most of what we price around Clarksburg and Gaithersburg.

Dust that settles into what was just installed

New carpet, new ductwork and new cabinetry collect site dust before anyone uses them. The EPA notes indoor dust carries far more than it appears to, and fresh fibers hold particles tightly. Carpet cleaning after a build is a separate, frequently sensible booking.

Construction cleanup work across the county

Additions and kitchen remodels across Bethesda and Rockville, basement conversions in Silver Spring, new builds around Clarksburg, Germantown and Frederick, all run from our Gaithersburg base. Construction cleanup gets priced by the work done, never by the postcode it happened in.

When the space is empty for two reasons at once

A renovated unit about to change hands needs both this and a move out or move in clean. The two overlap enough that quoting them together almost always costs less than booking them as separate jobs a week apart, and it removes a scheduling gap where dust settles back onto everything.

A price without anyone visiting first

Send the square footage, what was built, whether debris is already out, and one photo of the worst room. That is usually enough for a flat price and a date to come back inside a business day, with no site visit needed first. Ask for it and decide afterwards.
